Another milestone for Jefferson

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Steve Kozak's two-out, two-strike single in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in the game-winning run on Tuesday as Jefferson defeated Bamberg-Ehrhardt (S.C.) 11-10 on day two of the Hawaiian Tropic Classic for the 800th win in the program's history.

Kozak also had a two-run homer in the third inning and Brian McLaughlin added a bases-loaded double in the second for Jefferson (5-1). Justin Dailey picked up the win in relief.

Today's game against King Academy (S.C.) will be the 1,000th in school history.

HCC gets 7 in a row

COCOA BEACH, Fla. - Hagerstown Community College used one big inning and three solid pitching performances to take two more victories on their trip to Florida and ran their winning streak to seven games.

The Hawks (9-5) sent 13 men to the plate in the third inning against Finger Lakes (N.Y.) and scored seven times in an 8-4 victory. Trey Cobb, Justin Wenger and Joe Helisek all had two hits and two RBI to back up Jason Embly's complete game.

In its second game, HCC survived a late rally by Northampton (Pa.) for a 4-3 victory. Joe Helisek had three more hits, while Jason Bozzi pitched into the seventh for his first win of the season. Bryan Crosley closed the door for his first save.
