MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Susan West fired a complete game no-hitter while striking out 18 Monday to help James Buchanan (1-0) blank Susquehanna Township, 8-0.

West allowed two baserunners - on a walk and an error.

Cassandra Lehman hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and catcher Courtney West added two hits and two RBI for James Buchanan. Lori Stauder and Jenna Swailes had two hits each for the Rockets.

Freshman Lauryn Lewis singled in the second for North Hagerstown's only hit.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Sam Walls (3-0) struck out seven, allowed one hit and had three hits himself leading Jefferson (4-1) in the Hawaiian Tropic Classic.

Kevin McLaughlin and Steve Kozak had doubles in Jefferson's three-run third inning and Brad Williams had a pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh for the Cougars.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Greencastle-Antrim came from behind with three runs in the seventh inning with the help of two walks, two errors and a game-winning passed ball to win the season opener over Middletown (Pa.).

The Blue Devils battled from behind most of the game despite a three-run homer by Ralph Hoffman and a two-run shot by Zach Spidel.

Brett Hoffman had two hits for Greencastle (1-0) while David Izer added a two-run double in the third inning. Skyler Group picked up the victory in relief.
