Lillian K. Smith


SMITHSBURG - Lillian K. Smith, 63, of Smithsburg Pike, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 24, 1938, in Fairfield, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alton William and Hallie Anna Hoffman Snyder.

She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Smith Sr.; one daughter, Kathy A. Boswell of Waynesboro, Pa.; one son, Robert E. Smith Jr. of Salisbury, N.C.; one brother, Arthur S. Snyder of Fairfield, Pa.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown. Pastor Julie Brigham will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.




Geraldine M. Sanbower


SMITHSBURG -Geraldine M. Sanbower, 60, of Whitetail Road, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 11, 1941, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Elva Bowers Stephy.

She was a 1959 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

She is survived by her husband, John G. Sanbower; two sons, Jack D. Sanbower of Edgemont, Md. and Frank W. Sanbower of Duncannon, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.




Corina Jones


SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Corina Jones, 77, of South Mountain Restoration Center, and formerly of Haverford, Pa., died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at the center.

Born May 1, 1924, in Toughkenon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Hester Jones Fountain.

She was a housewife and homemaker.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of South Mountain Restoration Center in South Mountain. The Rev. Richard Stumphly will officiate. Burial will be private.

Friends may call Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the center.

Memorial donations may be made to South Mountain Restoration Center Volunteer Program, 10058 South Mountain Road, South Mountain, PA 17261.

Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro.




Hannah G. Brookens


Hannah Grace Brookens, infant daughter of William L. Brookens and Judith A. Wintermoyer of Hagerstown, was born and died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Linda Wintermoyer of Martinsburg, W.Va. and William F. Wintermoyer of Maugansville; paternal grandmother, Linda Flohr of Rouzerville, Pa.; maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Nola of Shrewsbury, Pa.; paternal great-grandmother, Maudie Smith of Rouzerville; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Chester William Brookens.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Arrangements are by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown.




Leonard B. Rosenberry


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Leonard B. Rosenberry, 79, of 5818 Cumberland Highway, died Monday, March 18, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born May 30, 1922, in Horse Valley, Pa., he was the son of the late Roy J. and Dora B. Horn Rosenberry.

He was a member of Salem United Brethren Church in Chambersburg, and was the Sunday school superintendent.

He was part-owner of Rosenberry Brothers Lumber Co. in Path Valley, Pa. He was a master timber cutter, logger and equipment operator.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in North Africa, Italy and Sicily.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Keller Rosenberry, whom he married June 17, 1948; one daughter Kimberly Reed of Amberson, Pa.; one son, Joseph L. Rosenberry of Upper Strasburg, Pa.; two sisters, Beatrice Johnston of Chambersburg and Shirley Rosenberry of Shippensburg, Pa.; five brothers, Glenn C. Rosenberry and John C. Rosenberry, both of Fannettsburg, Pa., Garnet L. Rosenberry of Orrstown, Pa., C. Guy Rosenberry of Horse Valley and Jay W. Rosenberry of Harrisburg, Pa.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Miller; and one brother, Alfred Rosenberry.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Salem United Brethren Church in Chambersburg. The Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg; and Friday at 1 p.m. at the church. The funeral home will open at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Raymond H. Lawyer


BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Raymond Hurst Lawyer, 67, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, March 18, 2002, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

Born Oct. 30, 1934, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Henry Casler and Pearl Frances Laign Lawyer.
