Better check those lottery tickets before you throw them away.

One could be worth $50,000.

Maryland Lottery officials were still waiting Monday to hear from the person holding the winning Bonus Match 5 ticket from the March 14 drawing. The ticket was purchased at the Martin's Food Market on Dual Highway, Maryland Lottery spokeswoman Gail Pelovitz said.

The winning numbers were 1, 12, 19, 22 and 26, Pelovitz said.

That ticket is worth approximately $32,750 after taxes, Maryland Lottery officials said.

That's enough money to pay for a college education at some schools, a new luxury car or a dream vacation.

The winner has until Sept. 11 - 182 days starting on March 14 - to claim the prize, according to lottery officials.

To play Bonus Match 5, players select five numbers from 1 to 39. Five numbers are drawn nightly as well as a sixth, bonus ball. The bonus ball increases a players chances of winning.

The bonus ball drawn March 14 was a 39, but wasn't needed to win, lottery officials said.

The winning ticket was a Quick Pick, meaning the numbers were randomly selected by the ticket terminal, Pelovitz said.

To claim the $50,000, the winner must mail or take the ticket to a Maryland Lottery Claims Center either at 6776 Reisterstown Road in Baltimore or at 4501 Forbes Boulevard in Lanham, Md. The centers are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Maryland Lottery can be reached by calling 410-318-6200 or toll free at 800-388-1333.
