Mr. and Mrs. Louis C. Taylor Jr. of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Mr. and Mrs. E. Duane Arch of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Anne Arch, to Christopher Douglas Golliday, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas E. Golliday Jr. of Bunker Hill, W.Va.

Miss Arch is a 1998 graduate of Wilson Senior High School in West Lawn, Pa., received an associate of arts degree from Hagerstown Community College in 2000 and is majoring in elementary education at Shepherd College. She is employed by JCPenney at Martinsburg Mall as a customer service specialist.

Mr. Golliday is a 1994 graduate of Musselman High School in Inwood, W.Va. and is attending Shepherd College where he is majoring in history education. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1994 to 1998. He is employed by The Children's Home Society of Martinsburg.

A May 2003 wedding is planned.


Jeffery and Darla Shumaker of Dargan announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Lynne Shumaker, to Andrew Lynn Beard, son of Donald and Linda Beard of Boonsboro.


Ms. Shumaker is a 1997 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She is employed by SECU in Hagers-town.

Mr. Beard is a 1997 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He is employed on his family's dairy farm in Boonsboro.

Lou Albutti and Daniel Carpenter announce their engagement.

Ms. Albutti is the daughter of Frances Russell of Nemours, W.Va. She is a 1990 graduate of Bramwell High School. She is a desk clerk at Dagmar Hotel.

Mr. Carpenter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Carpenter of Falling Waters, W.Va. He is a 1982 graduate of Williamsport High School. He is employed as a driver for Pro Tow Towing Co. in Hagerstown.

A June wedding is planned.


Tracey L. Cheshire and Lorne B. Rice announce their engagement.

Miss Cheshire is the daughter of Harry and Elaine Cox of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. She is employed by WCRH Radio.

Mr. Rice is the son of Austin and Janet Rice of Hagerstown. He is employed by Austin C. Rice Inc.

Natasha J. Ray and Jesse W. Carmack announce their engagement.

Ms. Ray is the daughter of Donald and Teresa Ray of Waynesboro, Pa. She is a 2001 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School and is a student at Wilson College, majoring in psychology.

Mr. Carmack is the son of John and Jodi Carmack of Greencastle, Pa. He is a 2001 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. He is serving in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyo.

A spring wedding is planned.


Keith and Diana Mobley of Frederick, Md., announce the engagement of their daughter, Anjanette Marie Mobley, to Aaron Shawn Bladen, son of Pauline May Brandt of Hagerstown and the late Aubrey Curtis Bladen.

Ms. Mobley is a 1991 graduate of Linganore High School and a 1994 graduate of Frederick Community College with an associate in arts degree in office technology/business. She is employed by Carroll County government.

Mr. Bladen is a 1984 graduate of High Point High School and a 1989 graduate of University of Maryland with a bachelor of arts degree in behavior and social services. He is employed by State Farm Insurance in Frederick.

Mr. Dawson is a 1990 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and a 1994 graduate of Waynesburg College. He is employed by Martinsburg Optical Inc. as an optician.
