Frances M. Tholl


BOONSBORO - Frances M. Tholl, 51, of Printz Road, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in Hagerstown.

Born Sept. 11, 1950, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Viola Agnes Campbell Haynes.

She was a member of Emmanuel Church in Silver Spring, Md.

She is survived by one daughter, Kim Robles; one son, Christopher Robles; two sisters, Barbara Eckert and Karen Forman; two brothers, Ernest Haynes and Charles Haynes; two grandchildren; and her fianc, Bobby Corso.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.




Mary C. Diehl


QUNICY, Pa. - Mary Catherine Bonner Diehl, 76, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 125 Williamson Ave., Greencastle, Pa., died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at the nursing home.

Born July 11, 1925, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Uriah and Nora Mowen Bonner.

She was a 1945 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Otterbein United Brethren Church in Greencastle.

She was a member of the National AARP.

She is survived by her husband, William E. Diehl, whom she married June 29, 1946; and one daughter, Marcia S. Diehl of Takoma Park, Md.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Otterbein United Brethren Church, Greencastle. The Rev. David G. Rawley and Chaplain Daniel F. Derk will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle.




Madeline L. Hutzell


BOONSBORO - Madeline Leona "Mattie" Hutzell, 73, of 7343 Mountain Laurel Road, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at her home.

Born Dec. 1, 1928, in Security, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Wesley and Susan Irene McGeown Plume.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardel C. "Sky" Hutzell, in 1996.

She retired from Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown after 23 years.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by three daughters, Erma M. Trout of Big Spring, and Juanita E. McCoy and Linda K. Jones, both of Hagerstown; one son, Ardel C. Hutzel Jr. of Cavetown; three sisters, Alice Plume and Shirley Gardiner, both of Hagerstown, and Gladys Bittinger of Smithsburg; two brothers, Kenneth Plume of Smithsburg, and Eugene Plume of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Miller and Virginia Edwards; and one brother, Richard Plume.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert Morey will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Raymond D. Mills


D'IBERVILLE, Miss. - Raymond Douglas Mills, 58, of D'Iberville, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, in D'Iberville.

Born in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late Raymond R. and Charlotte Repp Mills.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired from the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Mills; one daughter, Tanya R. Mills of D'Iberville; two sons, Gregory Mills of D'Iberville, and Kenneth R. Mills of Southhaven, Miss.; one sister, Sandra Murray of Hagerstown; two brothers, David T. Mills of Clear Spring, and Alander Mills of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Mills.

Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes, Biloxi, Miss. Burial will be in D'Iberville Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.




Kay L. Boyd


GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Kay L. Boyd, 59, of 8501 Garfield Drive, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born June 26, 1942, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Allen and Catherine Susan Perry Easton.

She was employed for 22 years by Sears in Rockville, Md.

She was a member of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church in Gaithersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Andre T. Boyd of Gaithersburg; two sons, Daniel Boyd of Gaithersburg, and Andre T. Boyd II of New Market, Md.; four grandchildren; and two aunts.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Nina George Hacker will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Monday at 10 a.m.

Wilma E. Howard


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Wilma E. "Spark" Howard, 65, of 708 S. Porter Ave., died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Sept. 20, 1936, in Blain, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank B. and Nellie M. Lyons Shanabrook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark A. Howard, in 1977.
