SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - A juvenile at a South Mountain detention facility allegedly assaulted an employee there Saturday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The 17-year-old male is a resident at Cornell Abraxas, 10056 South Mountain Road, police said.

He struck an employee in the face several times shortly before 6:30 p.m. Saturday, which caused several other residents to become disorderly, police said.

Police filed aggravated assault and assault by prisoner charges with Juvenile Probation.

The employee did not require medical treatment, police said.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Four people were injured Friday evening when a car spun out of control, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Edgar Baer, 41, of Fayetteville, Pa., was driving a 1990 Subaru Legacy west on U.S. 30 near Briar Lane in Guilford Township when the car spun out of control into the eastbound lanes, striking two other vehicles, police said.

Baer was treated at Chambersburg Hospital for minor injuries, police said.


Deborah Keefer, 34, of Chambersburg, the driver of the second car, was not injured. Her 12-year-old passenger complained of wrist pain but was not treated, police said.

James Gouker, 23, of Hanover, Pa., the driver of the third car, was treated at Chambersburg Hospital for minor injuries. His passenger, Kelly Shelly, 23, of Hanover, was treated at Chambersburg Hospital for a possible broken arm, police said.
