Ralph Condry

PLANO, Texas - Ralph Condry, 60, of Plano, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, in Dallas.

Born April 10, 1941, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Helen Condry.

He had acquired a political science degree.

He worked for JCPenney in Dallas for nine years.

He served in the U.S. Army for 20 1/2 years.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carrol; a daughter, Tammi; a son, James; three sisters, Milly, Gloria Jean and Darlene; three brothers, Bill, Mike and Scott; and a granddaughter.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at La Prada Drive Church of Christ, Mesquite, Texas. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.


Guy E. Pepple

Guy Emmert Pepple, 83, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 24, 1918, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late John R. and Bertha B. Wissinger Pepple.

He graduated from the one-room schoolhouse in Waynesboro.

He retired in 1981 from Fairchild Hiller Corp. in Hagerstown, with more than 30 years of service.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 695 of Waynesboro and American Legion Morris Frock Post 42 of Hagerstown.

He is survived three daughters, Doris J. Poffenberger of Liberty, Mo., and Stacie L. Sweger and Stephanie L. Pepple, both of Hagerstown; a son, Larry L. Pepple of Hagerstown; three sisters, Florence R. Hart of Hagerstown, Dorothy L. Buck of Boonsboro and Pauline Sperrow of Waynesboro; a brother, Clarence Pepple of Fayetteville, Pa.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene F. Pepple and Calvin Pepple; a sister, Anna M. Bond; and five brothers, Raymond L. Pepple, Robert R. Pepple, Carl Pepple, Glenn A. Pepple and Donald Pepple.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Potomac Street, Hagerstown. The Rev. Mary Alice Clever will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 41 of Chambersburg, Pa.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edna K. White

Edna Katherine Shilling White, 81, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at the home of her daughter, 1632 Woodland Run, Hagerstown.

Born May 21, 1920, in Barnesville, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Francis Shilling and Lonnie Mae Rice Shilling Strole.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. White Sr.

She was employed by Victor Hosiery for more than 30 years. She also was employed by Hartle's.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

She was a member of Williamsport Women of the Moose and AARP and was a volunteer with the Washington County Council of Churches Clothing Bank.

She is survived by two daughters, Edna Arlene Cunningham of Fairfax, Va., and Christine Louise Saur of Hagerstown; two sons, Thomas S. White Jr. and Timothy Lynn White, both of Hagerstown; a stepbrother, John V. Strole Sr. of Fallston, Md.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, John Vernon Strole Sr.; a sister, Dorothy R. Ernde; and two brothers, Charles Edward Shilling and Francis Leon Shilling.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Cleveland Avenue, Hagerstown. The Rev. Raymond H. Shriver will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown.

Chandler W. Arrington Jr.

Chandler William Arrington Jr., infant son of Melissa Ann Koontz and Chandler William Arrington of 25 High St. Apt. 2, Hagerstown, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

He was born March 1, 2002, in Hagerstown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a half sister, Haile M. Koontz, at home; a stepsister, Tressa Arrington of Hagerstown; three stepbrothers, Travon W. Arrington, Isaiah E. Arrington and Keyshawn D. Arrington, all of Hagerstown; maternal grandmother Mary C. Shafer of Hagerstown; maternal grandfather Clarence M. Koontz Jr. of Hagerstown; paternal grandmother Christine M. Younger of Hagerstown; maternal great-grandparents Robert and Louise Shafer Jr. of Hagerstown; maternal great-grandparents Frank and JoAnn Hudson of Circleville, Ohio, and Clarence and Mary Lou Koontz Sr. of Hagerstown; paternal great-grandparents Betty Lou Scott of Hagerstown; and aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents Oscar and Teresa Grove.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 6, at 6 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred Harris will officiate.
