MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Mercersburg man with impersonating a public servant after getting reports that he stopped motorists by flashing his headlights and using a red light.

Police alleged that during January and February the man stopped several people he knew and also some people he did not. When the people he did not know pulled over, he sped by, police said.

Jamie Lynn Cordell was arraigned by District Justice Hawbaker and committed to Franklin County Prison. He was no longer in the jail Wednesday, a corrections officer said.




CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg woman was injured Tuesday afternoon when her vehicle was hit from behind at a traffic light, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Susan Rauch, of Chambersburg, was stopped for a red light in the westbound lane of traffic on U.S. 30 at Falling Springs Road when a second westbound vehicle struck her car from behind at around 12:30 p.m., police said.

Rauch was treated at Chambersburg Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, Angela Eby, of Chambersburg, and two children in the car were not injured, police said.
