The Bernadyns

Steve and Madeline Gozora Bernadyn observed their 60th wedding anniversary in August. They were married Aug. 31, 1941, at Sts. Cyrillus and Methodius National Catholic Church in Perth Amboy, N.J.

They moved to Hagerstown in 1961 with Mack Trucks Inc. They now live in Seminole, Fla.

The Bernadyns have three children: Stephen Bernadyn of Raleigh, N.C.; and Pat Jones and Kathy Morin, both of Hagerstown. They also have seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a great-grandchild due in April.

The Thomases

Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at a party at the Quarters, a personal care facility at The Shook Home in Chambersburg Pa.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas celebrated their anniversary by sharing a cake with family and facility residents.

The Keeners

Mr. and Mrs. Adriel J. Keener of Maugansville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at a dinner at the home of their son Lynn Keener and his wife, Judy. Also in attendance were the Keeners' other children and their spouses, George and Adrena Sheppard, Paul and Elaine Keener and David and Nancy Keener.


The Keeners were married Jan. 15, 1942, by the Rev. Paul Berry Watlington in the parsonage of First Baptist Church of Hagerstown.

Lorene V. Keener is the daughter of the late Vernon and Virgie (Shenk) Eckard.

Adriel Keener is the son of the late Clinton and Edna Bucher Keener. He is a veteran of World War II. He retired from Mack Trucks Inc., in 1985.
