February 26, 2002

Two Berkeley Springs, W.Va., men who police allege were involved in a Feb. 18 robbery at the North End Liquor Store in Hancock were being held in a West Virginia jail Monday evening.

Larry Scot Somers, 20, of Jim West Road, and Jessie Michael Johnson, 20, no street address available, were each charged with armed robbery, theft, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment, Maryland State Police in Hagerstown said.

Somers and Johnson were being held at the Eastern Regional Jail Monday awaiting extradition to Maryland, state police said. Somers was being held without bond and Johnson was being held on $50,000 bond.

Around 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 18, a man armed with a rifle held up the liquor store at 143 Limestone Road in Hancock and appeared to have fled into West Virginia in a blue pickup truck driven by another person, police said.
