Burglars forced their way into a Washington County home Tuesday, taking a cable box and remote, Maryland State Police said.

Police said burglars entered the home on Foxville Road by breaking the door. Once inside, they ransacked the home.




MAUGANSVILLE - A 21-year-old Maugansville man was being held on $3,500 bond after an unauthorized prescription drug was found during a traffic stop on U.S. 11 Wednesday morning, Maryland State Police said.

Jeremy Adam Ebersole, of 13834-A Maugansville Road, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and rental agreement violations for the unauthroized use of a rental car, possession of a controlled substance, possession of prescription drugs without proper label and speeding.

Police said a blue Pontiac Sunfire was clocked traveling 56 mph in a 35 mph on U.S. 11 at 1:05 a.m. near Club Road.

Police searched the driver, who failed field sobriety tests and found 11 Percocet tablets in his pocket, police alleged. The driver didn't have a prescription for the drugs, which were allegedly purchased in New York City.

Ebersole was being held at the Washington County Detention Center.




The Washington County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents:

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> Minor damage to the passenger door of an Acura Integra in the 11300 block of Quail Bridge Circle in the Robinwood area was reported at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> A homeowner in the 22800 block of Jefferson Boulevard found his front door broken in on Tuesday evening, but nothing was taken. Damage was estimated at $200.
