Callas reappointed to Ag Center board


The Washington County Board of Commissioners Tuesday unanimously reappointed Pete Callas to the Agricultural Education Center Board of Directors.

Commissioners buying 3 trucks for $139,832


The Washington County Board of Commissioners unanimously agreed Tuesday to buy three 1.5-ton crew cab/chassis trucks at a total cost of $139,832.

The county will "piggyback" on a purchase by the city of Harrisburg, Pa., from the Hondru Group of Manheim, Pa.

The vehicles are for the county Highway Department.

Change order OK'd for bridge work


The Washington County Board of Commissioners Tuesday unanimously approved a proposed change order on rehabilitation work on the Old Roxbury Road Bridge.

The $129,825 change order increases the estimated construction costs to $464,301.

The change was needed because parts of the bridge's walls are in poor condition, said Chief Engineer Terry McGee. The weakened parts of the walls will need to be reconstructed.

Ardinger honored for internship


The Washington County Board of Commissioners Tuesday honored Jo Ellen Ardinger of Williamsport at the end of her year-long internship with the State's Attorney's Office.

Commission President Gregory I. Snook congratulated Ardinger on accepting a position with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service in San Francisco.

Nemcek selected for disability committee


The Washington County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Ethel Nemcek to the Disability Advisory Committee.
