Henrietta M. Carrington


NEWARK, N.J. - Henrietta M. Stoner Carrington, 60, of Newark, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at East Orange (N.J.) General Hospital.

Born Aug. 14, 1941, she was the daughter of John Stoner of Hagerstown, and the late Martha Stoner.

She attended North Street School, and was a 1959 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

She was employed at East Orange General Hospital for 40 years.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph H. Carrington; four sisters, Catherine Valentine of Hagerstown, Cynthia Smothers of Brunswick, Md., Johnetta Kidd of Hampton, Va., and Sandra Fletcher of Hephzibah, Ga.; three brothers, Thomas Stoner of Hagerstown, Vernon Stoner of Seattle, and Gerald Stoner of Irmo, S.C.; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Cotton Funeral Service, 130 Lyons Ave., Newark. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, N.J.

Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Fred H. Barkdoll


MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Fred Harding Barkdoll, 81, of 8507 Bolivar Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.

Born April 8, 1920, in Wolfsville, Md., he was the son of the late George Washington and Idella Marken Barkdoll.

He retired as a mechanic from Richard B. Rudy Transportation Inc. in Frederick after 27 years.

He was a member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren in Myersville, Md.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose Mowbray Barkdoll; three children, Jean Hartman of Utica, Md., Ronnie Barkdoll Sr. of Urbana, Md., and Diane Whitter of Jefferson, Md.; one brother, Donald C. Barkdoll of Wolfsville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown. The Rev. Tim Richey Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Grossnickle Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Myersville.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at noon.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.




Jack W. Brinkley


Jack W. Brinkley, 65, of 301 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Beverly Health Care of Hagerstown.

Born March 17, 1936, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William Edward and May Barrow Brinkley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Marie Brinkley, in 1997.

He attended Walnut Point Chapel.

He is survived by one daughter, Vicky M. Webb of Hagerstown; two sisters, Connie L. Rohrer of Hagerstown and Virginia M. Zimmerman of Frederick, Md.; three brothers, Robert L. Brinkley of Baltimore, Frank E. Brinkley of Keedysville and Thomas H. Brinkley of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. James W. Racey will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown.




Nellie R. Timmons


GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Nellie R. Mullenix Timmons, 81, of 11235 Burkett Road, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born April 21, 1920, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late McCullan and Bessie Stine Mullenix.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Timmons, in 1971.

She attended Kaiseville Schools.

She retired as a press operator from Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, Pa. She had been employed by Leonard Spitz in Greencastle.

She is survived by five children, Mary R. Pike, James C. Timmons, E. Janey Summers, Betty L. Stull and Richard L. Timmons, all of Greencastle; one sister, Anna Parson of Caledonia Manor Nursing Home in Fayetteville, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Mary Burkett, Ruth Burkett, Violet Hawbaker, Rosie Hawbaker and two infants; one brother, Albert Mullenix; and one grandson.

Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle. Pastors Wesley R. Heckman and Robert M. Thacker will officiate. Burial will be in Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery near Upton, Pa.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Marie A. Lawrence


KALISPELL, Mont. - Marie A. Lawrence, 91, of Immanuel Lutheran Home, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at the home.

Born June 15, 1910, in Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Marie Oravetz Rusnak.

She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Montclair, N.J.

She worked at Bloomfield Savings Bank as a mortgage processor, retiring in 1976. She also worked for Prudential Insurance.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She participated in senior activities at Immanuel Lutheran Home.

She is survived by one daughter, Diana Tyler of Kalispell; one son, Bill Lawrence of Newark, Calif.; six grandchildren, Ethan Lawrence, Renee Angelo, John Angelo, Bobby Tyler, Melanie Tyler and Ed Tyler; and three great-grandchildren.
