Decision on Greecastle senior center expansion delated again

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -A decision on whether expansion plans for the senior center in Greencastle, Pa., will move forward was delayed another week.

Kelly Livermore, assistant county administrator, asked the Franklin County Commissioners Tuesday to wait another week before deciding whether or not to award or reject bids received last month on the project.

Livermore said the county is looking at potential project sharing and needs more time to investigate possibilities.

The project calls for adding a 1,900-square-foot addition to the 4,000-square-foot center on Antrim Church Road and renovating the bathrooms to make them handicap accessible.

Project designers scaled down the project after the first round of bids last fall were well above the $150,000 grant the county has from the state Office of Aging for the project.
