Marjorie I. Diehl


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Marjorie I. Diehl, 79, of 825 Bowman Road, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Hershey Medical Center.

Born Jan. 2, 1923, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Koser Kean.

She was employed by Fairchild Industries in Hagerstown for 46 years, retiring in 1988.

She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Diehl; one son, Robert J. Fleming; three sisters, Marion Truett, Eleanor Isaman and Pauline Skeen; one grandson, Robert J. Fleming Jr. of Chambersburg, whom she raised; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania.




Thomas M. Hunter


CORNWALL, Pa. - Thomas Marshall Hunter, 86, of Cornwall, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, Pa.

Born Sept. 27, 1915, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Raymond and Helen Everett Hunter.

He had a master's degree from West Virginia University; and a doctorate from University of Maryland, College Park.

He retired as an associate professor of history from Penn State University, Schuylkill Campus.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe. He received a Bronze Star, among other medals.

He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lebanon, and was a tenor soloist in the choir.

He is survived by his wife, Mary T. Thompson Hunter, whom he married Aug. 31, 1940; a daughter, Alice Downey of Cape May, N.J.; a son, Thomas M. Hunter Jr. of Jaipur, India; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Levi Zerr Chapel of Cornwall Manor. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown, W.Va.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial donations may be made to Benevolent Care at Cornwall Manor, 2040 Rosewood Drive, Cornwall, PA 17016; or St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 600 S. 12th St., Lebanon, PA 17042.

Sharon L. Blevins


LEITERSBURG - Sharon L. Blevins, 46, of Leitersburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at her home.

Born Feb. 24, 1955, in Braddock, Pa., she was the daughter of Louis F. and Agnes Palk Managle Heinrich of Leitersburg.

She was employed by Maryland State Human Services for 16 years; and for 10 years as managing partner of Addiction Specialists Associates, with her husband.

She was an associate member of Bill and Lois Wilson's Organization; and a member of Potomac Playmakers.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 15 years, Wayne Steve Blevins; four children, Floyd E. Smith, Alicia M. Berger, Sean E. Smith and Vahalla Heverly, all of Hagerstown; one sister, Fran Walsh of Hagerstown; two brothers, Brian Heinrich of Hagerstown and Kevin Heinrich of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Mike Jendrek will be celebrant.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.




Ray G. Miller


SABILLASVILLE, Md. - Ray Guy Miller, 44, of 16903 Sabillasville Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at his home.

Born April 14, 1957, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Virginia Green Miller of Thurmont, Md. and the late James R. Miller.

He owned and operated Miller's Repair in Thurmont for eight years. He had worked for his father at Miller's Lumber Co.

He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Sabillasville.

He was a member of Blue Ridge Sportsman's Club; South Mountain Rod and Gun Club; and AMVETS Post 7 Bowling Team.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Marie Stambaugh Miller, whom he married Feb. 13, 1983; three children, Jamie R. Miller, Megan M. Miller and Cory M. Miller, all at home; two sisters, Arleen M. Donnelly of Thurmont and Jill D. Miller of Emmitsburg, Md.; one brother, James E. Miller Sr. of Sabillasville; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Robert E. Dailey and Son Funeral Home, Thurmont. The Rev. Janet Comings will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens near Frederick, Md.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 1 p.m.

Dale J. Miller


Dale Joseph Miller, 40, of 135 King St., Hagerstown, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, in Fairfax, Va.

Born Sept. 12, 1961, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Walter Jr. and Ann Elizabeth Miller of Hagerstown.

He was a graduate of the University of Maryland.

He was employed by the Home Company in Hagerstown.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church,was an altar assistant and taught C.C.D. classes.
