Police investigate break-in at church


Maryland State Police in Hagerstown are investigating a break-in at Faith Temple Church on Cearfoss Pike near the intersection of Cearfoss Pike and Greencastle Pike sometime between Sunday and Wednesday.

The suspects forced their way into the church and removed a Sentry Model 1250 safe containing church documents from an inside office, police said.

Police arrest man wanted for desertion


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - City police picked up a man wanted for desertion from the U.S. Navy during a routine traffic stop Saturday in the area of Centre and Burke streets.

Kevin Devon Crawford's name came up during a computer check, police said.

Crawford, 27, is being held in Eastern Regional Jail pending extradition proceedings, police said.

Man wanted on auto theft charges arrested


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Police arrested John Lewis Aikens Jr. of 730 N. Queen St. following a routine traffic stop Saturday on West King Street.

A computer check found that Aikens is wanted by police in Winchester, Va., on auto theft charges.

Aikens is being held in Eastern Regional Jail pending extradition proceedings, police said.
