NEW MARKET, Md. - Walkersville improved to 11-2-1 in regular season duals with a 69-6 win over Linganore and a 28-28 tie against Urbana. According to Walkersville coach Bryan Biehl, Urbana looked into criteria to get the win.
Chad Cotterman, Dan Caywood, Ed Asbil, Danny Crum, Zack McLain and Bill Burke all won twice for Walkersville.
South 41, Middletown 23
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Nathan Mose rode out Colin Blair in the second overtime for a criteria victory at 171 as South (12-7) defeated Middletown (9-8).
"We finally got one where we won the close bouts," South coach Brian Brake said.
Adam Hockensmith posted an 8-6 win over Matt Maddox and Clayton Swisher edged Andrew Presnell 3-2 in other close wins for the Rebels.
Also, Dan Drury, Stephen Copeland, Brandon Ashby, Anthony Blakney and Sal Mauriello had pins for South.
Middletown, which picked up a solid win by Andrew Nicklas, was without Ben Saylor, Nick Schlepp and Ryan McQuillen - all nursing injuries.
"That didn't make the difference today," Middletown coach Jim Schartner said. "We still won those weight classes."
