INSTITUTE, W.Va. - Makia Staves and Ashana Cowans each scored 10 points to lead Shepherd College over West Virginia State 69-43 Monday night in a WVIAC game.

Gail Siemer had eight points and seven rebounds, while Barba Oller added six assists and four steals for Shepherd (13-5, 9-2).

THURMONT, Md. - Nathan Long scored 10 of his game-high 24 points in in the fourth quarter as Catoctin pulled away from Boonsboro in a Monocacy Valley Athletic League game.

Long, who also had 18 rebounds, helped Catoctin (4-12) outscore Boonsboro, 18-8 in the final period.

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Steve Weller scored 23 of his game-high 39 points in the first half and Drew Washabaugh added 14 of his 17, including three 3-pointers, as the Spartans rushed to victory.

Weller scored 13 points in the second quarter as the Spartans (12-6) pushed to a 43-25 halftime lead. Weller also had 15 rebounds, scoring many as putbacks.
