Crime Solvers for 1/21

A burglary and theft of more than $2,000 in antiques from the R.H. Wilson Store last October is the subject of this week's Crime Solvers case in Washington County.

Between 5 p.m. Oct. 20 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 21, the historic Wilson Store, on 14921 Rufus Wilson Road six miles east of Clear Spring, was entered when the rear door was forced open, Maryland State Police said.

Once inside, the thieves took two large glass and wood display cases, including one with the Sears Roebuck Co. trademark; a bread box; a long-handled cleaver; and a porcelain "Public Phone" sign.

The crime occurred a day after the obituary of the store's owner was published by the local media, police said.

All leads in this case have been exhausted and Crime Solvers is seeking the help of the community.

If anyone knows the person or persons responsible for the crime, Crime Solvers wants to hear about it.
