Betty J. Lehman
Betty J. Horning Lehman, 72, of 21606 Leiter St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 23, 1929, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel James and Violetta Etta Young Horning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston E. Lehman Sr., in 1999.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy J. Lehman of Hagerstown, and Betty J. Lehman-Lloyd of Smithsburg; three sons, Samuel R. Lehman of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Thomas E. Lehman of Smithsburg, and Robert L. Lehman of Hagerstown; three sisters, Ruth Horst of Chambersburg, Pa., Olive M. Schuchman of Greencastle, Pa., and Esther Thomas of Boonsboro; a brother, James Horning of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Preston E. Lehman Jr.; a sister, Viola Rudy; and a grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayside Baptist Church. The Rev. Odell Stone will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Jessie Logue Dillow, 97, of Walnut Grove, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at the home of her son in Walnut Grove.
Born Aug. 30, 1904, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Rebecca Elizabeth Longerbeam Engle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George David Dillow, in 1975.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Murrill Hill United Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., where she was a former member of the choir and Ladies Aide Society. She attended Pentecostal Holiness Temple in Bakerton, W.Va.
She is survived by two sons, David L. Dillow of Charles Town, and Donald E. Dillow of Millville, W.Va.; and two grandsons, Michael S. Dillow of Charles Town, and Donald E. Dillow of Bunker Hill, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca E. Dillow; four sisters, Dena Dillow, Emma Dillow, Mary Ott and Anna Dillow; and five brothers, James Engle, Otho Engle, Charles Engle, Raymond Engle and Shannon Engle.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. Ronald Nick will officiate. Burial will be in Murrill Hill Methodist Church Cemetery, Harpers Ferry.
