Mail Call for 1/10

"I lost some photos around the Oak Ridge area. If you found them, call 301-582-3961."

"To the callers saying thumbs down to the Herald-Mail photo on the front page of an unwed mother of two. Who said she was an unwed mother? Perhaps she chose to keep her maiden name. Who are you to judge?"

"In response to the caller who said about the two cars on Cleveland Avenue with the West Virginia tags, well I have a business on North Cleveland Avenue. I would like to know who I can get in touch with about two vehicles with West Virginia tags, who are residents here in Hagerstown, right down the street from me. They have been taking my parking spots for my customers. They have a wood chipper and they are taking up two spots. It's affecting my business. I would like for the police department to come down here and check it out."

"I want to thank the man up at City Hall. I want to thank you for the excellent job he does. Within two hours, he notified the person with the snow and ice on their sidewalk. When you call him, he doesn't fool around when you call him. I hope you know who you are."

"We wanted to thank our neighbor Merle for shoveling our sidewalk for us."

"I want to know how it's legal for a man to go into a place of business, like a nursing home or something like that and pretend to be a nurse's aide and dress like a woman. The residents at the business think that it's a woman taking care of them and it's really a guy. How in the world can this be legal?"

"I have a suggestion to the Boonsboro Mayor and Council: I think you should cancel next year's Christmas Decorating Contest. After seeing the results of this year's contest winners, I really don't think it's appropriate to have it. No offense to the people who won, but I think it was unfairly judged and I believe that they should just forget it all together."

"I am a first time caller. I am reading the paper about Elwood Grimm. It's a sad thing, but why did you have to add about his jail time and the prison time for the skeletons in his closet? I think it's terrible."

- Hagerstown

"About the caller who said about the unwed mother of two on the front page of Tuesday's paper. What difference does it make if she was married or not? She probably takes care of her kids better than you did and you have probably had a husband for many years. You don't know what could have happened in her life."

"I wanted to say mind your own business about the unwed mother with two children. There are plenty of mothers out there who are unwed and I am sure that they take care of their children. That doesn't make them a bad person. Why don't you mind your own business and do what you need to do and stop worrying about everyone else."

"We found a camera on East Washington Street. It's a camera bag with a couple of rolls of film. If you believe this belongs to you, we would like to return it. Leave your number in Mail Call."

"About the Mail Caller who said about the birds in Tuesday's paper: Whoever put this in, must not be aware of how bad the birds really are. It can ruin the paint on your car if it's not gotten off pretty quickly. I just came out to my car recently and there was about 16 different spots all over it, where the birds had done their business on my car. It can ruin the paint and it's not easy to get off."

"To Herald-Mail, please put the livestock sales report back in the newspaper."
