Police looking for armed men who assaulted locals

Authorities are still searching for two armed, masked men who forced their way into a Hagerstown home and assaulted and robbed the occupants Saturday.

Police said two men brandishing small revolvers pushed their way inside a home in the 1000 block of Mount Aetna Road after the homeowner answered the door just before 9 p.m., according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Once inside, the robbers demanded money from the 23-year-old male and 20-year-old female occupants.

The occupants struggled with the robbers and received minor head injuries. Both were treated and released from Washington County Hospital.

After taking a large amount of money from the male, the robbers fled north on Mount Aetna Road in a red Dodge Daytona.

The men were described as two white males in their mid- to late-20s, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds.
