Driver robbed when he stops at intersection



A driver waiting at a red light in Hagerstown Friday morning was robbed after rolling down his window for a pedestrian who turned out to be armed, Hagerstown police said.

According to police, at about 6:55 a.m. Friday, a man was in his truck at the intersection of Dual Highway and Cleveland Avenue when he was approached by a man on foot.

The pedestrian tapped on the truck window, and the man rolled it down. Then the man brandished a handgun and demanded money.

The victim gave the armed man cash, and then the suspect fled.

The victim, 45, was not injured.

Police said the suspect is a black man in his 20s, 6-feet tall and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
