Elizabeth V. Walker


Elizabeth Virginia Walker, 87, of Hagerstown, who died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, is survived by a son, Eugene C. Walker of Killeen, Texas.




Catherine M. Lehman


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -Catherine M. Lehman, 73, of 487 Spring Valley Road, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at her home.

Born Oct. 7, 1928, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Norman M. and Mary K. Martin Diller.

She was a member of Antrim Mennonite Church, Greencastle, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Lehman Jr., whom she married Nov. 16, 1949; two daughters, Verna G. Zeiset of Chambersburg and Alice M. Nolt of Peach Bottom, Pa.; three sons, Daniel R. Lehman and Enos D. Lehman, both of Chambersburg, and Jason L. Lehman of Aaronsburg, Pa.; three sisters, Anna M. Strite of Hagerstown, Martha M. Horst of Greencastle and Mary Louise Halteman of Williamsport; a brother, Roy M. Diller of Greencastle; and 31 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Enos M. Diller.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Antrim Mennonite Church, 9745 Antrim Church Road, Greencastle. The brethren Isaac K. Sensenig, H. Lynn Martin, Mark E. Rosenberry, Delbert L. Eby and Robert L. Shank will officiate. Burial will be in Antrim Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

The family requests the omission of flowers.




John W. Wilson


WAYNESBORO, Pa. - John W. "Woody" Wilson, 84, of 1 Mount Vernon Terrace, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Jan. 16, 1917, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson.

He retired in the early 1980s from Mack Trucks, where he worked as a machinist. He had worked for Pangborn in Hagerstown, and Frick Co.

He was a member of Owls Club, and Order of the Owls Nest 1073 of Waynesboro.

He is survived by a daughter, E. Katherine Gunder of Waynesboro; a son, Donald Wilson of Waynesboro; a sister, May of Keedysville; two brothers, Gene Wilson of Minnesota and Norman Wilson of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn; and three brothers, Charles Wilson, Melvin Wilson and Lloyd Wilson.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, Pa.

Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro.




Donald H. Roper Sr.


KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. -Donald Harmon Roper Sr., 58, of Kearneysville, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Born June 1, 1943, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of James Henry Washington of Kearneysville and the late Emma Frances Roper Grantham.

He worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., for 24 years. He was a security guard at Pinkerton and City Hospital.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a member of BPO Elks 778 of Martinsburg.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Mary Gertrude King Roper; two daughters, Michelle D. Roper of Sterling, Va., and Christina April Roper of Ranson, W.Va.; two sons, Donald H. Roper Jr. of Fairfax, Va., and Ricky Phillip Roper, at home; two stepsons, Wayne G. Shelton Jr. and James Anthony Shelton; his stepfather, Charles Lester Grantham of Martinsburg, W.Va.; four sisters, Carolyn King, Kay Lockley and Diane Winters, all of Martinsburg, and Annette White of Ohio; three brothers, David Grantham of Martinsburg, Myron Washington of Ohio and Gary Washington of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren; aunts and an uncle.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Pryor; and two brothers, Charles R. Grantham and Jeffrey Washington.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Baptist Church, Kearneysville. The Rev. Alex L. Lambert will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson.




William N. Roberts


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - William N. "Bill" Roberts, 60, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at his home.

Born Feb. 28, 1941, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Charles H. Roberts Sr. of Martinsburg and the late Lula C. Miller Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Mae Ramsburg Roberts.

He was a graduate of Charles Town High School.

He was employed by PolyOne in Winchester, Va.

He was a member of Moler Avenue Church of the Brethren.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1969.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Venita Mae Robinson of Winchester; a stepson, Vincent Walter Mason of Hedgesville, W.Va.; two sisters, Anna Marie Zombro and Sandra Roberts, both of Martinsburg; three brothers, Charles H. Roberts Jr. of Laurinburg, N.C., and Richard L. Roberts and Thomas E. Roberts, both of Martinsburg; three stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Ellen Fleming; a niece and a nephew.
