Bette P. Mann


WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Bette P. Blubaugh Pryor Mann, 77, of 101 N. Broad St., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Nov. 22, 1924, in Tomstown, Pa., she was the daughter of Alice Melinda Blubaugh.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald R. Pryor, in 1981. They were married in September 1945. She was preceded in death by her second husband, J. Russell Mann May, in 1996. They were married May 23, 1986.

She was a 1942 graduate of Quincy High School, Quincy, Pa.

She was an assistant librarian at Waynesboro Area Senior High School from 1966 until her retirement in 1981. Earlier, she worked as a telephone operator and a dental office receptionist in Waynesboro.

She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, where she was a member of the board of directors.

She was active in the Council of Republican Women and was a Republican Party Committeewoman in Waynesboro.

She is survived by a stepson, John R. Mann Jr. of York, Pa.; and a grandson, Trevor Stottlemyer of Shippensburg, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Alice Blubaugh, who raised her; a daughter, Donna Stottlemyer; and a stepson, Robert Pryor.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St. Pastors Prudence B. Yelinek and Donald Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.




Robert A. Moore


CLEAR SPRING - Services for Robert A. Moore, 16, of Clear Spring, who died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Clear Spring, will be held at the convenience of the family and announced at a later date.




Minnie Clark


Minnie Clark, 97, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Beverly Health Care Center.

She was born Dec. 4, 1904, in Barton, Md.

She is survived by a son, Raymond C. Clark of Barton; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.




Patricia L. Boyd


CLEAR SPRING -Patricia Louise Boyd, 62, of Cumberland Street, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Clear Spring.

Born April 4, 1939, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Frank M. and Louise Seibert Boyd.

She was employed by Washington County Hospital; the Washington County Board of Education; and retired from the Washington County Health Department, as a program supervisor.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring, where she served as consistory president.

She was a member of the Clear Spring Historical Society; the Washington County School of Nursing Alumni Association; the Clear Spring Garden Club; and the Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post 222 Auxiliary.

She was instrumental in establishing the parish nursing program in the Clear Spring area, and served as chair on the Clear Spring Community Health Council.

She is survived by a sister, Nancy S. Grove of Williamsport; a brother, William S. Boyd of Mercersburg, Pa.; and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty W. Boyd; and two brothers, Randolph Boyd and Donald F. Boyd.

A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clear Spring.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Wednesday immediately following the memorial service at the church.

David R. Turner Jr.


EMMITSBURG, Md. - David Richard Turner Jr., 73, of Friends Creek Road, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 2, 1928, in Frederick County, Md., he was the son of the late David Richard and Vada Shriner Turner Sr.

He worked for a janitorial service at Site R, retiring in 1990.

He was a member of Friends Creek Church of God in Emmitsburg.

He was a member of Cascade American Legion Post 239 of Cascade.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Wetzel Turner; a son, David Richard Turner III of Sabillasville, Md.; a sister, Doris Kindle of Emmitsburg; and a brother, Emanuel Turner of Waynesboro, Pa.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Cool.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Friends Creek Church of God, Emmitsburg. The Rev. William Parks will officiate. Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Skiles Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg.
