BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - No. 2 Thomas Johnson rallied from 13 down in the third quarter to force overtime, but Mt. Vernon held the Patriots to two points in the extra session to win the Stop-DWI Holiday Tournament 72-70 on Saturday night.

Mt. Vernon made 9 of 12 3-pointers in the first half to build a 47-38 halftime lead.

"They were undefeated also, something like the No. 3 team in New York," TJ coach Tom Dickman said. "They were pretty remarkable, especially in the first half."

Jermaine Thomas had 14 points and six rebounds, while Thomas Richard added 10 points and six boards for TJ (6-1). Matt Ray had 13 points and D.D. Gibbs added 12.
