YORK, Pa. - St. Maria Goretti looked like a street gang on Thursday.

The Gaels ganged up on York Catholic guard Jon Iati and held him to a sub-par performance Thursday to lead Goretti to a 78-48 win to win the York Catholic Invitational title.

Iati, who averages 28 points per game, scored 56 in York Catholic's first-round win on Wednesday. Goretti used a swarming defense, keyed by the man-to-man play of Marcus Hudson and Derrick Davis, to hold York Catholic's top threat to just 17.

Goretti rushed off to a 38-20 halftime lead and never looked back. The Gaels shutout Iati in the second quarter while Josh Carter hit his two 3s to outscored York, 20-8.
