M. Elizabeth Deneen


M. Elizabeth Deneen, 85, of 11148 Lakeside Drive in Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 19, 1916, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin W. and Mary E. Shinholtz Demoss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Deneen, in 1980.

She retired from General Motors, in 1973.

She was a member of Buck Valley Christian Church in Warfordsburg, Pa.

She was a member of Queen Esther Chapter of the Eastern Star of Hancock; and a volunteer at Western Maryland Hospital Center and Washington County Hospital as a nurse's aide, beautician and cosmetologist.

She is survived by two daughters, Erna E. Long of Hagerstown and Alverta L. Deneen of Reading, Pa.; two sons, Ernest B. Deneen of Martinsburg, W.V. and Randy A. Deneen of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles S. Deneen; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg. The Rev. Clint K. Bahrenburg will officiate. Burial will be in Buck Valley Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.




May L. Mullenix


May Lillian Mullenix, 87, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Potomac Towers, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at her home.

Born April 7, 1914, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Ruby Frasier Barnhart.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

She was a member of VFW 1936 Ladies Auxiliary; and AARP.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard Mullenix Sr., in 1964.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Tritapoe of Brownsville and Lana Stottlemyer of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, J. Rebecca Pasody and Jason Middlekauf, both of Hagerstown, R. Brian Tritapoe and Dean R. Tritapoe, both of Brownsville, and Holly Vaughn and William R. Mullenix III, both of Yarrowsburg, Md.; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews, including Carol Howard of Leesburg, Fla., whom she raised.

She was preceded in death by a son, William R. Mullenix Jr.; three sisters, Margaret Bowers, Pearl Wolfinger and Helen Smith; and three brothers, Albert Barnhart, Chester Barnhart and Howard Barnhart.

Services will be Monday at 9 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. David B. Kaplan will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Leonard N. Tetreault


INWOOD, W.Va. - Leonard N. Tetreault, 75, of Inwood, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Sept. 6, 1926, in Grandby, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late George L. and Marie Taylor Tetreault.

He drove a truck for Time-DC; Fireline Petroleum; and Gulf Oil.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alberte Barre Tetreault; a daughter, Linda J. Vorous of Clearbrook, Va.; two sons, Norman G. Tetreault of Weymouth, Mass. and Maurice R. Tetreault of Hampton, N.H.; four sisters; two brothers; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at South Berkeley Chapel Funeral Home, Inwood. The Rev. Robert S. Hill Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be private.

Junior L. Snyder


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Junior Lee Snyder, 70, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at his home.

Born Dec. 25, 1930, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Isabelle Snyder Britt.

He was a 1949 graduate of Martinsburg High School.

He retired from Schmidt Baking; and was employed by Interwoven Mills for 24 years.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

He was a member of Berkeley County Historical Society; and AARP.

He is survived by cousins.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Britt.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. The Rev. Troy E. Mays will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.

Doris V. Collis


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Doris V. Bivens Collis, 79, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Jan. 14, 1922, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur O. and Virginia E. Barrick Bivens.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
