GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Greencastle-Antrim broke open a nip-and-tuck game by outscoring McConnellsburg 15-0 in overtime Saturday to claim a 60-45 victory.

Kristy Long scored nine of her game-high 26 in the overtime period. Greencastle (3-6) broke out to a quick four-point lead in the extra period and took over control to shut out the Spartans. Greencastle hit 5 of 7 foul shots in OT.

Long added 11 rebounds while Alicia Thompson scored 14 and Jill Leedy had eight rebounds.

Stephanie Paylor led McConnellsburg with 19 points.

Bowie St. 98, Shepherd 85

BOWIE, Md. (AP) - Tim Washington scored 21 points and Cornelius McMurray added 13 points and 10 assists to lead Bowie State over Shepherd.

The Bulldogs (6-2) scored early and often, taking a commanding 51-26 lead into halftime. The advantage proved necessary, as the Rams (3-4) rallied back in the second half, falling well short but outscoring Bowie State, 59-47.

Hasheem Alexander, Thomas Johnson graduate, had 17 points for the Bulldogs. Stephen Moss-Kelley chipped in with 10 rebounds.

Shepherd was paced by Demond Tapscott's 23 points - including five 3-pointers - and nine boards. It was Tapscott's first game of the season after missing the fall portion of the schedule because of academic ineligibility.

It was also the Shepherd debut for Matt Slaninka, a 7-foot-4 center who transfered between semesters from Maryland. Slaninka scored two points in two minutes for the Rams.
