Here are some of the calls we have received lately:

"I lost a ring and I think it was out there at the junior college. It was a ring with a large synthetic stone, sort of red. Call 301-739-5999, but I am not here very much."

"To my sweet cheeks, who isn't a baby anymore, who was 15 years old on Dec. 9. Mamma is so proud of you. You have so much ahead of you. Be what you want to be, you have some strong genes. Love you, Mom."

"In response to the apartment buildings that may be built at Pangborn Park. I live not too far from there and the bottom line is: Whether you want them to build them, no matter what anyone thinks, they will probably be built. That is the bottom line. I guess if you don't like it, you will have to move."

"About all the 'Harry Potter' and all the kids taking things so seriously. My thought is, kids are kids, let them be kids. Remember you were a kid at one time. So just let the kids have fun, it's not going to hurt them. You had fantasies and an imagination, too, when you were a kid, so let them have one, too."

"On Thursday, Dec. 6, a little after noon, I found a bag of very nice items that someone had just bought. They left them in the parking lot outside Hecht's at Valley Mall. These items had not been purchased at Hecht's, however, I took them into the customer service department at Hecht's. So, if you can identify your items, the bag is there for you. I hope you retrieve it."

"About people saying about the 'Harry Potter' movie and how bad it is. They should start looking at these soap operas. People casting spells on each other, people coming back from the dead. Get real, leave 'Harry Potter' alone."

"In regards to the person who just moved to the area and wanted to know where the Christmas displays are. Take your family to the Williamsport Park. It looks like Christmas wonderland."

"I have been away for the last 18 years and I come back and start reading the paper and going to the mall and doing what a normal person is supposed to do and I can't figure out what is going on. It seems like everyone is in a big hurry. I went to the mall and these people have things stuck in their nose, their lips, what's going on? It seems like a war is going on there."

"I just heard on one of the news channels that Sen. Clinton from New York has never visited any of the victims' families that died in the 911 disaster. I believe that if there would be an impeachment hearing for her also, then she should be. I just cannot believe that someone could be so heartless."

"It makes no difference to me what anyone who is not a citizen of the United States thinks. Attorney General Ashcroft is exactly on target for doing what he is doing with the illegal immigrants in this country. They don't belong here. I don't want them here. That is part of the problem now. The terrorists are roaming around the United States to do whatever they want to do. We saw some of the results of that on Sept. 11. Any good American should support him."

"I need an oxygen tank and carrying case unit. Does anyone have one to give away? Call 301-791-7417."

"We are looking for a farm that takes spayed or neutered wild cats. Call 301-432-0440, if you are interested in any."
