Vivian V. Grove
Vivian V. Grove, 81, of 300 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Avalon Manor Health Care Center.
Born July 16, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Lillie Mae Fish Lum.
Her husband, Leonard Martin Grove, died in 1993
She was employed in the dietary department of Washington County Hospital for 23 years, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of Haven Lutheran Church.
She was a member of Haven Road Senior Citizens and the Keenagers.
She is survived by four sisters, Irene E. Wentz, Levena M. Henson, Betty J. Jones and Peggy E. Green, all of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Clara May Bonney, Ethel Marie Lum, Mary Madgeline Reese, Doris Jane Massie and Phyllis Elaine Clark; and three brothers, Charles Frederick Lum Jr., William Kenneth Lum and Samuel Earl Lum.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Torben G. Aarsand will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Francis X. Molloy
Francis X. Molloy, 79, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Baltimore, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 7, 1922, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Francis Xavier Sr. and Katharine Helene Doyle Molloy, and stepson of Mary G. Zang Molloy.
He retired as a project engineer for Pangborn Corp. in 1985, after 33 years of service.
He served in the Army Air Corps, having served during World War II.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus Pangborn Council; St. Vincent de Paul Society; American Legion Post 42 Morris Frock, BPOE 378; and the VFW of Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Laura Jane Abbott Molloy; three sons, Michael F. Molloy of Baltimore, P. Kevin Molloy and Dennis S. Molloy, both of Hagerstown; a daughter, Mary S. Molloy Peiffer of Hagerstown; a sister, Anne T. Kelly of Hyattsville, Md.; a brother, James M. Molloy of Passaic, N.J.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary K. Molloy, Maude A. Hooker, Katharine H. Molloy and Mary Frances Little.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. Monsignor Robert Passarelli officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rest Haven Home, 1691 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. A rosary service will be held at 8:30 p.m.

Jean D. Metcalf
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Jean D. Metcalf, 65, of 365 Wayburn St., died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 16, 1936, near Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Cleneth B. Sr. and Mabel I. Tritle LaMaster.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by her husband, Rankin Metcalf, whom she married Feb. 11, 1955; a daughter, Marsha K. Myers of Mercersburg; a son, Barry Lynn Metcalf of Greencastle; a sister, Vicki L. Rife of Lemasters, Pa.; three brothers, Rodney E. LaMaster and Boyd V. LaMaster, both of Mercersburg, and Cleneth B. LaMaster Jr. of Winchester, Va.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vaughn LaMaster and Wayne LaMaster.
