Pa. man dies in mobile home fire

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - A Shippensburg Township man died in a mobile home fire Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out around 6 a.m. at 15 Dykeman Road in Cumberland County, according to Greg Coy, fire chief of Vigilant Hose Co. No. 1.

The fire destroyed the home and killed the sole occupant, whose name was not available Tuesday, Coy said.

A Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal from the Carlisle barracks was investigating the cause of the blaze.

Coy said the victim's name will not be released until the Cumberland County coroner finishes his investigation in the next day or two.

The Vigilant Hose Co. No. 1, the Cumberland Valley Hose Co. and West End Fire and Rescue in Franklin County responded to the scene. They had the fire under control within 15 minutes and extinguished in less than 45 minutes, Coy said.
