Shooting victim remains critical

A 23-year-old man shot four times Saturday night in Hagerstown remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday evening, a nursing supervisor said.

Damion Maurice Womble, address unknown, was found at about 10:14 p.m. He was lying on the west sidewalk on the 300 block of Central Avenue, off Salem Avenue, with gunshot wounds to his right upper leg, right kneecap, front left hip and right middle finger, police said.

Womble was taken to Washington County Hospital by Community Rescue Service. After preliminary treatment in the emergency room there, he was transferred to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Womble was seen arguing with two men before the shooting, police said. Police said Monday they were still looking for the men, who were seen leaving in separate vehicles.
