Application deadline is May 25.

Applications are being accepted from girls ages 13 to 19 to participate in the Miss Teen All American Pageant. Contestants representing cities, states and provinces from the United States and Canada will compete for a prize package that includes $5,000, a personal appearance contract, designer clothing and shoes, jewelry, luggage, a fitness program, travel opportunities and more.

There is no talent competition and no experience is necessary. Contestants will be judged in evening gown, swimwear and personal interview.

Respite care training for teens

Free training for teens age 13 to 19.

This training, offered by Caring Communities, is designed to provide knowledge of disabilities, provide respite care to parents, giving them peace of mind and an opportunity to focus on daily responsibilities, give teens a view of the disability field. Respite care may be used as community service hours.

Participants will learn definitions of disability and respite, work with infants and toddlers, how to handle communication difficulties, about assistive technology and how to manage behavior.
