Five land on Tuscarora School Board ballot

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The race among the five candidates for the Tuscarora School Board was so close that all will be on the ballot in December.

The candidates for school director cross-file and run in both the Republican and Democratic primaries.

Because voters choose four names, each candidate landed enough votes to stay on the ballot.

The Republican nominees are Jane M. Rice, who got 997 votes; Jeffrey L. Spidel, with 987; Roger W. Price, who got 892, and Steven W. Myers, who got 804. Darlene Kriner received 655 votes.

On the Democratic ballot, Rice got 469 votes, Spidel 456, Price 417, and Kriner 385, enabling her to stay in the race. Myers had 351 votes.

In November, the top four vote-getters will be the new school directors.
