Gunder ahead of Huff in Quincy Township



QUINCY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Robert Gunder was the apparent winning candidate for the single Quincy Township Supervisor seat in contention in Tuesday's Republican primary, according to unofficial returns with three of the township's four precincts reporting.

Gunder was ahead with 122 votes. Dale Huff was second with 45 votes.

Wilbur Sanders, who withdrew from the race, had 38 votes.

Democrat Charles Freeman was unopposed in his party's primary and will face the Republican candidate Nov. 6.

Incumbent Republican Supervisor James Utley did not seek re-election.

In the GOP primary for tax collector, Kathy Wishard, with 149 votes, was far ahead of Emmy Myers, who had 28 votes.

Patricia L. Gossert was unopposed in the Democratic primary.
