Williamsport junior Sammie Smiles won the girls singles title for the second straight year when she defeated teammate Stacey Cannon, 6-2, 6-1. Smiles was 14-0 during the regular season.
"I just wanted to concentrate on my game and relax out there," Smiles said. "I felt great and I played my hardest out there. It feels great to win it two years in a row."
North Hagerstown senior Mike Brooks also won the boys singles title for the second year in a row when he defeated David Seifarth of Smithsburg, 6-3, 6-0. Brooks also went undefeated during the regular season for a second consecutive time, going 18-0 record.
"It feels good to repeat," Brooks said. "I kept on playing my style. I didn't do anything special. I just kept up with my regular routine. I hit my ground strokes really well."
