Police investigate Pa. man's death

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police were investigating the Monday death of a 29-year-old Guilford Township man.

An autopsy was performed on Kris Eugene Jones on Tuesday, Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey Connor said.

It will take four to six weeks before toxicology reports are available to determine a cause of death, he said.

Jones was taken to Chambersburg Hospital Sunday, where he was placed on life support, said Tpr. Mark Grove, who was assisting in the investigation. Jones died Monday, he said.

Grove would not specify what may have led to Jones' death.

His death would remain under investigation until the results of the autopsy and toxicology tests are available, police said. Grove said he could not elaborate on circumstances surrounding Jones' death, saying that could jeopardize the investigation.

"The autopsy and medical tests will determine any criminal liability," he said. "The investigation is ongoing until we have a definite cause of death."
