Here are some of the calls we have received lately:

"I have some questions for the Board of Education concerning MSPAP testing. First, why are we allowing schools to hold assemblies and waste learning time? Second, why are we allowing medals to be awarded to children when the test is supposed to tell if the teachers are doing their job? How can you award individual students and the parents cannot get individual scores? You are allowing our children's self-esteem to be hurt by doing this. Give class awards or none at all. Also, who supplies the awards? Please answer these questions."

"I am calling to thank the Smithsburg Chief of Police Ralf Burger. I am very honored that you did the right thing and fixed all the residents, not just the students, that park illegally in front of the school. I think that the Smithsburg adults who park in violation of the street sweeping ordinance should take a look at the example they are setting for the younger adults. Thanks, Ralf, for being straight forward."

"Does anyone in Hagerstown know where you can get the silhouettes that people have in their yards that are black? One in particular, out on Dual Highway, it is a silhouette of a rottweiler, plain black. If you know where I can get one, call me at 301-797-0065 and leave a message."
