Man still in hospital after one-car crash

CLEAR SPRING - A Washington County man remained hospitalized Thursday after a Wednesday accident on Independence Road.

Rodney Vaughn Wolfe, 21, of 13217 Independence Road, was listed in serious condition at Washington County Hospital the day after the accident.

Wolfe was driving a 1994 Mazda sedan north on Independence Road at 9:30 p.m. when the car ran off the road, hit a tree and went down a cliff, Maryland State Police said.

Man faces drug possession charge

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man picked up on an existing warrant Wednesday was charged with drug possession after police found a plastic bag with crack cocaine on him, Chambersburg Police alleged.


Alfonso Torres, 19, 439 S. Seventh St., was charged with possession of crack cocaine, police said.

Police picked up Torres in the 100 block of South Main Street at around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging him with retail theft. While he was being processed at the police station, police alleged they found a bag with one rock of crack.

He was placed in Franklin County Prison, police said.

Pa. student charged with making threats

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Franklin County student was charged with making terroristic threats while at school Wednesday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The 16-year-old Franklin County Career and Technology Center student allegedly made statements during school hours against other students and said he would bring a gun and shoot them, police said.

He was charged with making terroristic threats and was turned over to Franklin County Juvenile Probation.

Vehicles vandalized at car dealership

Vandals broke out the windshield of one vehicle parked at Sharrett on the Dual Highway Wednesday while thieves took a CD changer from the trunk of a customer's car parked on the lot, according to Washington County Sheriff's deputies.

City police probe various incidents

Hagerstown City Police investigated several recent incidents.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> Two accidents occurred on East Wilson Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

Police said the first accident occurred at 3:47 p.m. in the 700 block. About 10 minutes later two cars collided in the 600 block of East Wilson Boulevard, police said.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> A Hagerstown man was cited after a disturbance in the 100 block of East Franklin St.

William Douglas Kirby, 43, of 50 E. Franklin St. was issued a disorderly conduct citation.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> A West Virginia temporary tag was stolen from a car in the South End Shopping Center Thursday.

The tag number is W.Va. 930519.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> A trolling motor and fishing gear, valued at more than $1,700, were taken from a garage at 115 N. Potomac St..

The crime was reported Wednesday but may have occurred as early as April 1.
