Local Roundup: Hiser homers three times as HCC beats Allegany

CUMBERLAND, Md. - P.J. Hiser hit three homers, drove in eight runs and got his sixth victory of the season as Hagerstown Community College beat nationally ranked Allegany College 12-8 in the second game of a Maryland JuCo Conference doubleheader on Tuesday.

Allegany won the first game, 16-4.

Hiser went yard in the first, sixth and seventh innings as HCC (21-6, 9-1) rallied with seven runs in the final two innings of the second game. His last two homers both came with two outs in the inning.

Chaz Runk also had two hits and two RBI for HCC, which has now won three times in four tries against Allegany (32-4, 13-3), which is currently ranked No. 12 in the NJCAA Division I poll.

Sondra Hall hit a solo homer in the fourth and had two hits overall for Waynesboro (8-5, 3-3 Mid Penn Commonwealth). Hannah Hess, Jana Reitz, Erika Besecker, Miley Stymiest and Kelly Carpenter also had two hits for Waynesboro.
