SALISBURY, Md. - All season long, an early deficit has been disastrous for the Hagerstown Suns. Until Tuesday night, that is.

Down by three after four innings, the Suns rattled off 10 unanswered runs to beat the Delmarva Shorebirds 10-5 and get back to .500 on the season.

Hagerstown (6-6) trailed 3-0 going into the top of the fifth, but took the lead in a hurry. Matt Walker tripled to lead off and came in on Trey Lunsford's single. After Elliott Strankman was hit by a pitch and a wild pitch, Tomas Garrido hit a roller to third. The throw came home to get Lunsford, but Delmarva catcher Jon Kessick missed the tag and the score was 3-2.

Jason Ellison tied it with an RBI single, and Garrido came all the way around from second when Bryan Gann's bunt was thrown into right field.

The Suns got two more in the seventh on a two-RBI triple by Deivi Santos for a 6-3 lead, then blew it open with a four-run eighth off reliever Jose Advincola.

Lunsford walked, Strankman singled and both moved up on a double steal to set up Ellison's two-RBI double. Gann singled in Ellison and took second on the throw home. He scored when Santos' grounder was misplayed.

Jeff Clark moved to 3-0, getting the win when the Suns started their rally. He went five innings, giving up four hits and one earned run while striking out three. He also walked one - his first free pass of the season.

The Suns return home today for the second two games of the four-game series against the Shorebirds.
