About 175 fifth-, sixth- and seventh-grade students took part in the 9th-annual 24 Math Games at Hagerstown Community College Tuesday. Leslie Hobbs, supervisor of secondary mathematics for the Washington County Board of Education, said the event is sponsored by F&M Bank. The purpose of the game is to reach a total of 24 by adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing the face value of four cards. The winners of the event were: fifth grade, Robert Lee Wolfe III, Old Forge Elementary School; sixth grade, Alicia Grier, Smithsburg Middle School; seventh grade, Jennifer Huntoon, Northern Middle School.
