Eugene F. Cook Jr.


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Eugene F. Cook Jr., 51, of Martinsburg, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at his home.

Born March 1, 1950, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Bessie Carter Cook of Martinsburg and the late Eugene Franklin Cook Sr.

He is survived by seven sisters, Helen L. Robinson, Linda L. Newell, Debra K. Cook, Darlene T. Cook, Blanche I. Cook and Beth A. Hannam, all of Martinsburg, and Saundra Robinson of Baltimore; and four brothers, Roger L. Cook of Hagerstown, and Nathan W. Cook, Charles W. Cook Sr. and Clyde W. Cook, all of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas R. Brown.

Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Revs. Patrick J. Walker, James E. Brown and Elder John Price will officiate. Burial will be in Douglas Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Patrick P. Dayley Jr.


CLEAR SPRING - Patrick Perry Dayley Jr., 18, of 14125 Fairview Road, died Friday, April 6, 2001.

Born Jan. 3, 1983, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Brenda Lee Ommert and Patrick Perry Dayley Sr. of Clear Spring.

He attended Clear Spring High School and Washington County Technical High School.

He was a junior member of the Greencastle, Pa., Sportsman's Association.

He was employed by Food Lion Grocery on Eastern Boulevard in Hagerstown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Carl Woodrow Dayley II at home; paternal grandmother Elizabeth E. Dayley of Hagerstown; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Helen and Harold Ommert and his paternal grandfather, Carl W. Dayley.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Timothy L. Lester will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Jerry C. Housden


KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Jerry Clinton Housden, 45, of Fox Glen, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Fairfax INOVA Hospital in Fairfax, Va.

Born April 15, 1955, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of Elsie Hite Housden of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., and the late Rufus M. Housden.

He was employed by the former Dixie Narco Inc. in Ranson, W.Va.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Shenandoah Junction.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Linda Anne Milburn Housden; five sisters, Violet Sarra of Middleway, W.Va., Diane Evans of Martinsburg, Linda Reed of Shenandoah Junction, Angela Banks of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Kathy Kline of Ranson, W.Va.; five brothers, Donald Housden of Halltown, W.Va., Robert Housden of Manassas, Va., Elwood Housden and Leonard Housden, both of Charles Town, W.Va., and Glenn Housden of Inwood, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores J. Housden, and four brothers, Rufus M. Housden Jr., Norman Housden, Francis Housden and Charles W. Housden.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Shenandoah Junction. The Rev. Robert Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.

H. Louise Aleshire


H. Louise Aleshire, 81, of 517 Guilford Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at her home.

Born March 18, 1920, in Luray, Va., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Armenia Wood Atkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carl Aleshire in 1986.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. Routzahn of Frederick, Md., and Jacquelyn D. Finn of Lewis Center, Ohio; six sons, Benny Shenk of Luray, Jerry P. Aleshire of Mercersburg, Pa., Gregory A. Aleshire and Terry Joe Aleshire, both of Clear Spring, and Richard S. Aleshire and Buddy Shenk, both of Hagerstown; a sister, Evelyn Rosser of Luray; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded death by a brother, Virgil Atkins.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
