Roundup - HCC, Monroe split twinbill


Andria Cook threw a four-hit shutout with five strikeouts to help Hagerstown Community College to a 2-0 win to salvage a doubleheader split with Monroe Community College.

The Hawks' offense didn't give Cook much support until the fifth inning. Robin Curley singled, stole second and scored on a Heather Danley single.

Danley stole second, moved to third on a single by Kim Twigg and scored on Jennifer Beachley's base hit.

Cory Reed struck out six for the Hawks (13-3) in the first game, a 7-1 loss to Monroe.

UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Adam McAllister went 4-for-4 with two runs and three RBI, while Erik Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 and scored three runs for Williamsport.

Matt Allen went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Mike Stevens went 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Brent Hover also went 2-for-4 for the Wildcats (2-4).

Brad Stonesifer went 3-for-4 with two doubles and Chad Schildt went 2-for-4 with two doubles for FSK (2-4).

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Holly Wagaman struck out six in a two-hitter and doubled in the first run of the game to keep the Maidens perfect in the Mid Penn Commonwealth.

Sandra Hall and Jana Reitz also had RBI singles in the fourth for Waynesboro (4-1, 3-0).
