Teleconference set for April 18

MONT ALTO, Pa. - More than 2,000 organizations across the United States and Canada will be local hosts for the Hospice Foundation of America's eighth annual "Living with Grief" teleconference Wednesday, April 18, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The workshop, titled "Caregiving and Loss: Family Needs, Professional Responses," will be a live-via-satellite video teleconference examining ways professionals can better understand and respond to the needs of family caregivers.

The program will offer insight and practical suggestions for those assisting family caregivers as they respond to the challenges of caregiving, make critical end-of-life decisions and cope with their grief.


The program will be moderated by Cokie Roberts of ABC News and will feature a distinguished panel of experts, with a message from former First Lady Rosalynn Carter.

Health-care workers, agencies, hospital administrators and others who work with family caregivers are encouraged to attend this teleconference.

Spring services of remembrance to be held April 22, 29

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Hospice of the Panhandle will host spring memorial services to remember people who died under the care of hospice last year in Berkeley, Jefferson, Morgan and Hampshire counties.

The services of remembrance, which include readings, music and the lighting of candles, will be at these locations:

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> Sunday, April 22, at 4 p.m. at Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, 117 E. Burke St. in Martinsburg.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> Sunday, April 29, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Romney, W.Va.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m. at Berkeley Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church, U.S. 522 south in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. No smoking will be permitted on church property.

The public is invited to attend. There will be a reception and time for sharing following each service.
