Meet the Suns - a day earlier

For the first time in nearly 10 years, Hagerstown baseball fans will be able to put faces with Suns' names before the home opener.

The team will hold Meet The Suns night as part of the its first public workout on Monday at 5:30 p.m., at Municipal Stadium. It will be the Suns pre-season debut as an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants after spending eight years with Toronto.

Meet the Suns was originally scheduled for Tuesday.

It will be the first Meet The Suns function since 1993. But since the Giants organization trains in Arizona instead of Florida, the Suns will be coming to town early. Under Toronto, the Suns left their Florida training site for their first games of the season, usually in Georgia.

Manager Bill Hayes said the Suns roster won't be finalize until Saturday. The team will leave for Hagerstown on Sunday.
