Science center may get small grant

ANNAPOLIS - Discovery Station may get a $25,000 state grant this year, said Sen. Donald F. Munson, R-Washington.

Although the House of Delegates cut the interactive children's science center's request for $375,000, a Senate committee voted Tuesday to give the project a small amount to keep it going, Munson said.

The money would come at the expense of a grant for the Hagerstown arts and entertainment district downtown, which would get $250,000 instead of $275,000.

The American Red Cross would get $300,000 and Washington County Hospital would get $470,000 under a bond bill plan awaiting General Assembly approval.
