Local Roundup - Deese stays hot at Speedway



* HAGERSTOWN SPEEDWAY


Two-time defending late model champion Roy Deese Jr., of Odenton, Md., took victory again in the 30-lap late model feature Sunday afternoon at the Hagerstown Speedway.

Deese quickly moved into the lead from his front row starting position coming off of the forth turn and then held off Charlie Schaffer for the win.

Craig Von Dohren, of Barto, Pa., won the 30-lap small block modified feature and Erik McKinny won the 15-lap Modified Lite main event.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Jason Helcoski hit a three-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning as Bloomsburg defeated Shepherd College.

Brian Tozer and Adam Straskulic hit RBI doubles in the third inning for the Rams (5-10). Starter Justin Collins threw seven scoreless innings with five strikeouts in a no-decision.
